I am a textile artist living in the small village of Bungwahl, near Seal Rocks New South Wales.
My work is abstract and inspired by my surroundings in the bush, and I have developed two series, Reflections and Canopy, to document the effects of climate change on the lakes and the bush near my home.
I use strong colour contrasts, perhaps a result of my graphic design background.
I aim for a dynamic mix of patterns that converge to tell a story, and along with commercially dyed natural fabrics and sometimes my own screen-printed fabrics.
The final element in the design process is to hand quilt the work, this is my link back to traditional quilt making. The hand quilting gives my work an added dimension of depth and texture, and I love this process.
I have worked as a textile artist for thirty-five years and have exhibited in galleries in Australia and overseas. My work is in public and many private collections here and overseas.
