… a different perspective.
Alternate View explores small scale artworks created in the perceived confines of a defined space. These windows, looking out, have each subsequently morphed into something quite unique: some through the distortion of optics of viewing through the acrylic surround: some exploring the conflation of space, others vibrating with personality, colour and texture.
Each artwork is imbued with its maker’s individual story, celebrating the differences in all. The exhibition is a mix of the realistic and abstract, presenting different subjects and emotions, all individual in their story. Alternate View use the metaphor of the acrylic box confines to represent ’Windows’ – looking ahead/out/forward, projecting optimism, looking forward, hope – embracing the inevitability and excitement of life.
