I grew up with a creative mother, who spent many hours working in her studio, surrounded by paint, driftwood and natural fibres. I have been influenced by her ‘can do’ and innovative attitude to her art.
Personally, I have always been drawn to fabric and threads.
My work is fairly spontaneous and I enjoy working to a theme. I am interested in the human condition and my work often conveys personal experiences. My environment, the beautiful Blue Mountains, is also an inspiration.
The techniques I frequently use are dyeing and manipulation of cloth, construction of cloth, hand and machine stitching.
